Safety Compliance Coordinator

Sumner, TX | Full-time

General Description:

We are currently looking for a Safety Compliance Coordinator. The Safety Compliance Coordinator will interact with key operations personnel such as Supervisors, Human Resources, Maintenance and production personnel at all levels of the site organization. Headquartered in Sumner Texas, Load Trail is one of the world's leading trailer manufacturers. The company employs more than 500 people at 3 locations in North East Texas.

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

  • Providing support to the Safety Director and management team to achieve the HSE vision through management commitment and employee ownership and engagement.

  • Assisting (Establishes and sustains) HSE ownership by providing support and understanding of the HSE Management System.

  • Conducting daily inspections independently and in conjunction with supervision and the safety team.

  • Provides HSE technical guidance to staff personnel.

  • Participating in the case management process for all accidents and injuries for the facility.

  • Serving as a point of contact for all staff members to understand and support HSE daily activities.

  • Participating in the development and implementation of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards.

  • Providing support in the development, improvement, and implementation of training systems to meet facility needs.

  • Conducting training on health, safety, and environment to all employees or others as needed.

  • Utilizing development plans to grow HSE skills and knowledge.

  • Provides onsite security duties through physical presence and through the use of CCTV.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • One (1) year experience in a Safety field

  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance. (Travel to doctors’ offices and other plant sites as needed)

  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment

  • Willing and able to work in an environment which could require bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, heavy lifting, climbing stairs or ladders and working in high (e.g. elevated platforms/workstations, etc.) or confined spaces (e.g. tanks, vessels, silos, storage bins, hoppers, vaults, pits, manholes, tunnels, equipment housings, ductwork, pipelines, etc.)
     

  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment

  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed

  • Available to be on-call after hours as needed

  • Willing and able to lift and pull up to 150lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Five (5) years’ experience with Health and Safety in an industrial or manufacturing environment

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety or a related field
